Silphium Collective was founded on the belief that leadership, work, and systems can be reimagined — made more human, more sustainable, and more just.

We partner with leaders, organizations, and communities to move from overwhelm to clarity, from extraction to care, and from inherited systems to intentional design.

Who We Are

Amelia Corl
Founder & Principal Consultant

Hi, I’m Amelia Corl — founder of Silphium Collective.

I bring more than a decade of experience helping organizations lead with greater clarity, connection, and sustainability. My background spans consulting, philanthropy, public sector strategy, and executive leadership.

Before launching Silphium Collective, I served as Chief of Staff at The Opportunity Trust, where I helped lead major organizational growth and secured $35.5M in federal grant funding. Earlier, I directed local programs and governance at GHR Foundation, managing $15–20M in annual grantmaking and building new racial equity initiatives. I’ve also advised leadership teams at the U.S. Institute of Peace, USAID, and IBM Public Sector.

Today, through Silphium Collective, I work alongside mission-driven organizations, leaders, and solopreneurs to design strategic plans, facilitate transformative retreats, strengthen internal systems, and build leadership practices rooted in care, clarity, and sustainability.

I specialize in supporting organizations at critical moments of growth, transition, or realignment — offering strategic planning, fractional Chief of Staff support, and leadership coaching.

I hold an Executive Certificate from Harvard Kennedy School, an ABD (All But Dissertation) in Sociology and Human Rights from the University of Minnesota, and a B.A. in Sociology from Macalester College. I’m also a proud IndeCollective and Camelback Capital Collaborative Fellow.

Across every role and project, I operate from one belief:

Care isn’t a soft skill — it’s a strategy.

I’m here to help leaders and organizations build systems that are more human, more sustainable, and more just.

Our Work

Silphium Consulting

Strategic planning, leadership development, and project execution for organizations ready to lead with clarity, sustainability, and human-centered systems.

Unbossed

A circle for women solopreneurs building countercultural businesses centered on rest, connection, and collective sustainability.

Load Bearing

A virtual gathering space exploring and honoring the often-invisible labor that sustains our communities — and imagining new systems of care.

Guiding Principles

Systems are made — and can be remade.

We don’t have to accept the defaults we inherited.

Leadership is relational.

We center the human experience, not just efficiency or outcomes.

Reflection is action.

Slowing down and asking different questions changes what we build.

Small actions scale.

Big shifts are built from small, consistent acts of leadership, care, and reflection.

Rest is not a reward — it’s part of the work.

Sustainability starts with how we care for ourselves — not just what we build.

Care is not a soft skill.

It’s a strategy for sustainability, leadership, and change.
